VENUES: The SSC travels to several clubs in Georgia and Alabama with regular shoots at seven host gun clubs. These are Big Red Oak Plantation(Gay, GA); Bird-In-Hand Shotgun Sports (Plains, GA); Callaway Gardens Gun Club (Pine Mountain, GA); Cherokee Rose Sporting Resort (Griffin, GA); Circle W Sporting Clays (Heflin, AL); The Meadows National Gun Club (Smarr, GA); and Ocmulgee River Gun Club (Macon, GA). PRICES: 100 Sporting Clays $29, Re-Entry $27, Lunch $8, 5-Stand for $5 COMPETITION: The SSC provides relaxed competition without involving direct monetary prizes. After participating in two SSC shoots, members are placed in divisions by calculating Par for each shoot and the individual’s Personal Handicap as follows: Par (for the shoot) = (Ave of top 10% of the scores) Personal Handicap = Moving Ave (Par - score) An individual’s Personal Handicap is calculated using a moving average which approximates the average of their last ten shoots. The minimum requirement is 2 shoots for initial division placement. The individual's Personal Handicap value determines the division placement as follows:
Divisions 1 thru 6 will be head to head competition. Raffle tickets will be awarded to the division champion (3 tickets), the division runner-up (2 tickets), and to all division competitors with scores in the top 50% of the class (1 ticket). Division 7 shooters will be awarded 1 raffle ticket if they "have a good day". A "good day" is when their score plus their Personal Handicap is greater than Par for the shoot. In addition, one ticket is awarded for every four shoots attended. At the Year-End Awards Party, the raffle tickets are used to award donated prizes. SUB-GAUGE HANDICAPPING SYSTEM: Due to the increased interest in shooting sub gauge guns and to allow as much freedom to have as much fun as possible, the SSC uses the following handicapping system effective June 7, 2008.
CONCURRENTS: Our concurrents are set based upon the NSCA rule book.
